ICCPA Partnership with the Black Sea Coalition for Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention

BSC_Logo_150x150The Black Sea Coalition for Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention was launched in September 2009 as an alliance of policy makers, technical institutions, experts and clinicians from the countries of the Black Sea basin and the South Caucasus. The coalition was founded on the belief that joint and coordinated efforts will allow these countries to better address the high prevalence of breast and cervical cancers in the region.

The formation of the Coalition was initiated by UNFPA Country Office for Georgia with support from the UNFPA Country Offices in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Turkey and the Ukraine, together with technical support from the ICCPA. The Coalition’s activities focus on national capacity building, sharing of knowledge and expertise, partnership formation and advocacy for the involvement of a wide range of government, non-government and international organisations in the battle to prevent breast and cervical cancers.
